As you may have heard in recent updates, Zero OS 4 Development Version has officially been released and initial V4 farmer tooling has been added to ThreeFold Connect! These are big milestones – meaning that V4 3Nodes, available through our vendor partners HostService and DuckFarmData, have started shipping, and the first V4 3Nodes are coming online. Once live, these certified nodes will begin earning rewards as outlined on our partners’ websites.
Over the coming months, the ThreeFold development team will be actively testing version 4 of the grid on these nodes. Currently we do not have an estimate of how long this testing period will last, but nodes that remain online during this testing period will earn rewards.
Although INCA, the token of version 4 of the grid, has not yet been launched, V4 certified farmers will be able to track their earnings as part of updates coming to the next release of ThreeFold Connect (version 4.3).

What are the current options for certified v4 nodes?
You can find the current options on our partners’ websites. DuckFarmData for America and HostService for the rest of the world. Please note that there are some lower-cost options being looked into at this time. More to come!
Is Do It Yourself (DIY) possible with version 4?
Yes. Technically it’s possible to create a farm in TF Connect and boot up your own DIY node with ZOS 4, although you won’t receive rewards at this time. For now, DIY nodes are set to receive only utilization rewards in version 4, but there are no utilization rewards being offered during the testing period.
During the testing period, can I deploy on my own node?
No, only ThreeFold developers will be able to deploy on your nodes during the initial testing period. Of course this may change over time.
What about my V3 node?
For now, V3 nodes continue to earn TFT until 1 billion TFT are minted.
Will I be able to turn my V3 node into a V4 node?
Yes, this will be possible. Documentation will be shared / released soon.
