Unfolding ThreeFold - Monthly roundup, September 2026

sept_2026_roundup

Hello ThreeFold community,

First, thank you to everyone who joined us on the community call and to all of you who have followed our development month after month and are still supporting us.

We are a small team and this year we have achieved a lot. We know it doesn’t always look that way from the outside, because we have spent more time building than announcing. For a long time we said we were looking for commercial deals and partners to bring real usage to the grid. That is what this year has been about. It took longer than we hoped, but we got there. A first large commercial partner is now on board and funding a significant part of development, and several apps have been built on Hero OS for paying customers. This work is what funds everything we are building and allows us to keep moving forward.

Here is where things stand on our current projects:

TFT to SPORE: a dedicated call in October

The conversion deadline from TFT to SPORE is extended to the end of the year. We are extending it again because many of you have not converted yet and we don’t want anyone to be penalised for that. Some of you told us the process wasn’t easy, so in October we will hold a call dedicated to the transition and walk you through exactly how it works. If you haven’t moved your TFT to SPORE yet and would like some help, please join us. We will share the date and link on Telegram.

Marketplace and cooperative network platform

The marketplace and the cooperative network platform are now in internal testing. They will launch as soon as they are ready and we will update you on our Telegram News channel. The marketplace launch does not depend on the TFT to SPORE transition. They run on separate timelines, so neither one is waiting on the other.

As announced, the cooperative will be set up in the Zanzibar Digital Free Zone as soon as possible. We’ll share more once incorporation moves forward.

Hero V1 ready

The team and close partners have been testing Hero internally for over a month, and community testing is the next step. We’ll share how to join as soon as it opens.

A quick recap for those who are newer to Hero: it is our sovereign alternative to ChatGPT. Your data, your conversations and your work stay yours, running on our own infrastructure rather than someone else’s cloud. Behind the chat, Hero is a full operating system: an office suite, slides, whiteboards and a development environment, all AI-driven. It is also the platform we use to build apps for our customers. Hero and those apps run on the grid, so the more people use them, the more grid capacity gets used.

We will publish a dedicated forum post this week with more details.
