ThreeFold Commercialization Update: 28 November 2025

The team continues to make strong progress as we move towards commercialization.

Over the past month, our primary focus has been on fundraising, partnerships, and offtake agreements, alongside pushing to bring Project Mycelium live as soon as possible. Some of the team was in Egypt this month, coming away with strong commitments on all three fronts.

As a reminder of the different sides of ThreeFold (each working towards the same goal of delivering distributed sovereign digital infrastructure to the world in their own ways), we have:

  • GeoMind
  • Project Mycelium
  • ThreeFold

GeoMind

GeoMind is the software-delivered data-center alternative, a lightweight path to high-grade capacity deployment. The team is moving ahead in commercialization discussions, with a business model focused on Tier-S and Tier-H data centers, and a 20% margin on commercial deals. Momentum is building and we foresee multiple Tier-S data center projects coming to life in 2026.

Project Mycelium

Project Mycelium is advancing steadily. As a reminder, Mycelium is our full decentralized Internet stack delivered in three main phases:

  1. The Cloud (ThreeFold v3 is live, Kubernetes Cloud offering is in early release)
  2. The Network (live and expanding)
  3. The Agentic Framework (H1 2026)

Note: We are also aiming to re-introduce the Virtual Datacenter in Q1 2026. Take a look at the latest Project Mycelium presentation here.

At the heart of this evolution is the Mycelium OS and the Mycelium Marketplace, which will serve as the glue that connects the entire ecosystem. Both will be operated by the Mycelium Cooperative, with 10% of marketplace utilization fees going to the cooperative. We’re targeting January for the first versions of Mycelium OS and the marketplace. Thanks for your patience.

Meanwhile, an early version of Mycelium Cloud is already running on ThreeFold, and the Mycelium Network offering is evolving in parallel.

ThreeFold

ThreeFold remains an essential part of the story. Version 3.x will stay alive as the feature-rich community cloud. ThreeFold Cloud is actually more robust and expansive from a feature standpoint than the Kubernetes-focused Mycelium Cloud and we foresee ThreeFold and Project Mycelium co-existing for different workloads and audiences.

Mycelium will leverage ThreeFold as a capacity provider, and farmers/hosters will be free to choose which version they participate in. For December, farmers will continue to receive TFT rewards from the treasury as we transition toward the next phase.

Looking Ahead

Some things we are working towards in the coming weeks:

  • Project Mycelium website and docs
  • Progress on Mycelium OS and the Marketplace, to enable Project Mycelium
  • Start promoting new hosting opportunity, show potential for new/future communities
  • Preview of Q1 / H1 2026

From finalizing commercial offerings to transitioning from rewards to revenue, signing offtaker agreements, and securing proper funding, we’re taking tangible steps to ensure 2026 is the year that our project goes to the next level.

A lot is unfolding at the moment. Please leave comments and questions below.
