Hello ThreeFold community,
The documents to establish the cooperative are ready. What we are waiting on now is the parties who need to complete their side and we expect that to be done by the end of September. Once it is, incorporation moves forward.
In the meantime the rest of the work carries on. The interim stewardship council held its first meeting on July 16, and over the summer the team spoke individually with almost everyone who applied to be involved.
One thing we want to be clear about: we are not designing the cooperative privately and handing you the finished thing. Structure, rules, governance and decision making get shaped by the people who will actually participate in it. There is a working session on exactly this, and we will announce it shortly.
A community app for the cooperative
Earlier this year the team built an application for CM50, the Cooperatives and Mutuals Leadership Circle facilitated by the International Cooperative Alliance. It was built for their summit in Brussels in June and gave members a private space to find each other, hold discussions, and access shared documents and resources. It worked well, and will also be used for their upcoming summits.
Much of that is what a cooperative needs. So instead of building another platform, we are adapting a simpler version of it for Project Mycelium:
- Member registration and identity
- Documents and resources
- News and progress updates
- Demo videos and forms
- Group discussions
- Roadmap visibility
- Polls and voting as governance matures
The first version stays deliberately simple.
This is the approach across the board. The portal, the blockchain backend and the Hero components already exist and work. Adapting them puts useful technology in your hands considerably faster than rebuilding would. We’ll show the version we built during next community call!
Stay tuned and join us Thursday 17th!
