Dear community,
We have successfully upgraded our TFGrid on Mainnet to version 3.14.
This upgrade requires an update of the Farmerbot to version 0.15.10. For instructions on how to update the Farmerbot, please see our previous forum post.
We realize that the need to upgrade the Farmerbot as to not to lose any uptime wasn’t properly communicated. In the future we will make sure to communicate any action that is needed by the farmers so they won’t be negatively affected by upgrade changes.
Since the minting upholds a minimal uptime requirement of 95% for DIY nodes and 98% for certified nodes, we would like to propose the following GEP as to not negatively affect the farmers using the Farmerbot and who were not aware that action was needed to ensure their Farmerbot correctly sends wake up notifications.
We propose to adjust the minting code solely for the July minting cycle. The minting code as such will take into account that nodes that went to sleep maximum 24 hours before the Mainnet upgrade which occurred on July 15th at 2.30PM, but only got a wake up call after July 19th at 6PM CEST, will not receive any reduction in uptime.
This gives the farmers running the Farmerbot time until Friday July 19th at 5.59PM to update their Farmerbot version.
Since this issue only concerned nodes running the Farmerbot, there will be no grace period for nodes that were not run by the Farmerbot and experienced downtime for any other reason.
To vote on this GEP, please make sure to visit dashboard.grid.tf. After logging in, click on DAO and cast your vote before July 25th at 10AM CEST.
We would like to take this opportunity to urge the community to keep an eye out for important announcements. Any action needed to ensure your farm is up to date, will be communicated on our official channels.
Kind regards,
Sabrina
