Trouble finding online nodes when deploying VM (Closed)

Hey guys

I have Trouble finding online nodes when deploying VM.

I have used my old polkadot account and try hotfix from github issue. That did not work and yesterday i created a new polkadot account with relay setup and new Play account. Same result happens. Do not know if others have the same issue at the moment?

Can you please let us know the following

  • the network you’re using (URLs for the websites)
  • the reproducible steps
  • Logs and screenshots if available

Hi ahmedthabet

  1. I go to https://dashboard.grid.tf/

  2. login with my polkadot account

  1. I go to https://play.grid.tf/

  1. I login to my account - around 49 tft in balance

  1. I search for an available node - but finds only - e.g. Node (1) is down using capacity filter.

Hello Faldt,

I wanted to inform you that I have tested the scenario you mentioned, and it appears to be working correctly. However, I wanted to bring to your attention that there are some known issues related to the p2p connection and the user public key.

In other news, we are excited to announce that our client will soon be released. We are currently awaiting a minimum of 25 farmer votes for the release to proceed. You can track the progress of the release on our forum through this link: GEP for Grid 3.10 on Mainnet

Rest assured, I will continue to monitor this thread and provide updates once the release is available to our clients.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.

Best regards
Mahmoud

Hi @faldt,

I reviewed your exchange with the support team, and I think I see why the workaround didn’t seem to help in your case. We should be able to help you get it fixed, so I asked them to follow up with you.

Hi Scott

Thanks. That would be great!

Okay - I think i got it working now:-)

One thing that confused me was the fact, that i should use my polkadot extensions private key as a profile manager mnemonics on the play.grid.tf and not use a new created account as the profile manager.

Maybe it is the link from dashboard.grid.tf to play.grid.tf that made me think that i still was logged in with my polkadot account and therefore i should create a new account in the profile manager.

Maybe it could be a good idea to show the user some feedback about logged in or not. And use same feedback as the dashboard with a clear connect and disconnect button or in the future a list of profile managers accounts assigned to the polkadot account if possible.

Just to understand the bigger picture. Is it only a polkadot account / private key that can create a profile manager at the moment?

Now thanks for pointing me in the right direction - time to deploy and do some experiment

Glad to hear it’s working for you now

I can see where the confusion came from around how the Polkadot account you use in the Dashboard gets linked to the Playground. These things are actually totally separate. So to use the same account in both places, you need to enter the same seed phrase into the Playground, as you discovered. I’ll think about how we could improve the experience there.

No, you can also create a new account directly in the Playground and it should just work. There’s been a bug that interferes with the operation of new accounts and requires the workaround. But generally speaking, you should be able to just make an account with the button there, fund it with TFT, and start making deployments.
